Privacy Policy
How we handle personal data on the AirCapsule website.
This is an initial draft, published so the site's legal links work. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and is not final. It will be replaced before launch. Questions? hello@aircapsule.io.
Who we are
AirCapsule is built and operated by Noverai Srl, a company incorporated in Italy (European Union). For any privacy question, write to hello@aircapsule.io. Noverai Srl is the data controller for the personal data described below.
What this policy covers
This policy applies to the AirCapsule website at aircapsule.io:
the marketing pages, the blog, and the newsletter signup. The AirCapsule
application (where you connect Basecamp, run backups, and manage a subscription)
lives at app.aircapsule.io and is governed by a separate in-product privacy
notice. Account, billing, and tax data are handled there, not on this website.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter signup
When you subscribe, we collect the email address you enter and a source/referrer indicating where the signup came from. We use this to send you our essays and the occasional product update. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing (one click, in every email).
Anti-spam verification
The signup form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which evaluates a token and technical signals from your browser to confirm the submission is not automated. This is necessary to operate the form and protect it from abuse (legitimate interest).
Analytics
We use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) to understand how the website is used: page views and campaign parameters (UTM tags) on a small number of pages. This helps us see which content and channels work. Analytics may rely on cookies or similar browser storage; see Cookies below.
Transactional email
When you subscribe, we send a one-off welcome email through Resend, our email delivery provider. Your email address is processed to deliver that message and the newsletter you opted into.
Processors we rely on
We share personal data only with the service providers (processors) that make the website work, and only to the extent needed:
| Provider | Purpose | Data | Region |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notion | Stores newsletter signups | Email, source | United States |
| Resend | Sends the welcome email + newsletter | United States | |
| Cloudflare Turnstile | Anti-spam form verification | Token, technical signals | Global (CDN) |
| PostHog | Website analytics | Usage, UTM parameters | European Union |
Some providers are based outside the EU (notably in the United States). Where that involves an international transfer of personal data, it is covered by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The exact safeguards and the providers' own privacy terms will be confirmed in the final version of this policy.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website may use cookies or similar browser storage for analytics (PostHog) and for the anti-spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile). It does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. A detailed, consent-managed cookie notice will accompany the final version of this policy.
How long we keep your data
We keep your newsletter data for as long as you remain subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we stop using your email to contact you and remove or anonymize it within a reasonable period. Analytics data is retained in aggregate for as long as it is useful to operate the site.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@aircapsule.io. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, in Italy, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website evolves. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
